Navigating Change: Fall is the Perfect Season

Fall is officially here! 🍁

As the leaves begin to turn and the air takes on that first crispness the rhythm of nature shifts, and with it, our own inner rhythms respond. For some, this season brings cozy joy and excited bursts of energy. For others, it stirs restlessness, sadness, uncertainty, grief, or unease. However it lands for you, it’s all part of the natural cycle. Transitions and navigating change carry many truths.
I’ve always loved fall. I was even born on the autumnal equinox (sometime in the 1900s 😉). The crisp air, the glorious colors, the harvest’s abundance all remind me that change, while constant, carries opportunity. It's a time of plenty, but also a time of transition - a reminder that change is both natural and necessary. As the trees release what no longer serves them, so can we. Fall invites us to let go of old habits, fears, triggers, or limiting beliefs that keep us stuck.
In my own cultural tradition, this time of year is especially sacred.
It’s a season for deep reflection, for acknowledging where we’ve been, and for setting intentions for the year ahead. A chance to look at the path we’re on and ask whether it still aligns with who we want to be: Do we keep walking the familiar road of fear and doubt, or chart a new one toward clarity, calm, and confidence?
Sometimes we stay on the familiar road; other times, we choose a new one. As Led Zeppelin wisely put it: “Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on.” (I would also argue that there are many more paths than just two, but I'm a "both/and" kinda girl!)
Fall in a deciduous place highlights a time that holds both abundance and letting go, in the most breathtaking way. And both are necessary.
